Millefiori/La Passacaglia Quilts

This is an English paper pieced quilt, but it's not JUST another quilt! The name Millefiori, is Italian, used 1849, is "a 1,000 flowers." La Passacaglia, Spanish-Italian, 1659, is "the street path." Quilt design is adapted from the British mathematician, Mr Penrose's stars, cosmos, & geometrical pavement designs. It's made using circles, diamonds, hexagons, ovals, pentagons, rectangles, squares, & triangles-all in multiple sizes & glorious colors! It is difficult, but it's only one piece at a time!
