Women Who Read (Art)

Because I'm a voracious reader, my sister once gave me the gift of a coffee cup, with a painting upon it by one of my favorite painters; Sir Frederick Leighton. It was a girl reading. I loved it so much, I went in search of more. Since then, I have fallen in love with paintings of women reading. I find them utterly charming. Because as Jane Austen says, "Any person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid."
