Weather: Fill the cup with water. Put shaving cream on top for a cloud. Explain that when clouds get really heavy with water, it rains! Then put blue food coloring on top of the cloud, and watch it rain.

Great activity during a weather unit. 2 liter soda bottle cut in half. Put about an inch and a half of warm water (w blue food coloring) in the bottom. Invert the top of the bottle with the lid on and fill with ice. Watch the water condensate and watch it "rain"

Mimosa Pudicatickle me plant. Kids love to grow this plant and "play" with it. Great for plants and botany unit for all grades.

I love using real pictures in science...and so do my students! This Parts of a Plant unit includes 24 real pictures for sorting - 6 examples of plant roots, 6 examples of plant stems, 6 examples plant leaves and 6 examples of plant flowers. The same 24 pictures are included with and without picture labels. After they have sorted the cards, students can complete any of the included recorded sheets. #plants #partsofaplant #science #tpt #education #sheilamelton

Here is a fun little booklet you can print out for young kids to help them learn about the different parts of plants and flower, how they function and more.  With Spring blooming all around, this is a perfect time of year for this activity.

Growing Leprechaun Hair I love this and think maybe the kids could just make regular people as a spring planting project.

SCIENCE Teaching Strategy Incorporate Technology: Students can learn through interactive websites. Students like to learn in the avenues that they "play" outside of the class. Incorporating technology in the class gets students involved and interested. It also allows students to access information at home! (Grades 3-6) Found on Pinterest.

What do plants need? Cute craft to supplement your plant unit!! In Bloom {Craftivity & Printables}!

KMG-This is a great charting activity with plants and can be used toward the end of the lesson to ensure that the students understand the lesson. The parts of the plant and what the plants give are more complex complex concepts for kindergarten, but it is still okay to introduce and teach it. I just will not require reciprocation of the information in order to achieve mastery.
