What we like: - Tropical gardens which have development into lush rainforest - Civic and historical function - Hidden oasis. Cascade Gardens, Surfers Paradise, Australia. Set between the Gold Coast Highway and the river, these picnic gardens feature serene rainforest walks, traces of aboriginal culture and a sanctuary for water birds. Established in the 1950’s by Rotary, the park serves as a civic WWII memorial to the Kokoda Track and returning servicemen.
