This quilt was made by sewing 4 strips of WOF together and cutting them into blocks. I think they are 8 inch finished. Strips were 2.5 inches. The black print has cute little minnows swimming around. We used leftover fabric for the back - no surprise there! It was quilted with a pattern called Contempo which I do not recommend for busy quilts. I like it on the back but the front has too many straight lines. I think a more curved pattern would have been better.
Setting the Record
This is the largest quilt I've ever made. It's a generous twin size at 74"x90". (See that toque poking out above the quilt? HaHa, makes me smile:) This was for a custom order. I used an entire fat quarter bundle of Hope Valley. I used up every last piece on the back, together with Essex Linen blend in natural. Love the back of this quilt SO much.
I finally finished the baby quilt for Joyce's cancer event. I get such a rush sewing on the binding. I don't know if It's because I love hand sewing or that the quilt is almost finished. It just makes me want to get another quilt started. Things I learned: When you have a deadline, quilt making is not as fun. My FMQ skills are improving, although very slowly I really enjoy FMQ, I'd like to know about your adventures with it. The supreme slider is worth EVERY penny. Www.freemotionslider.com…
Bluebonnets for Baby
Remember that secret sewing project I've been promising? Well, I'm happy that I finally get to reveal it to you, because it's my turn on the Oh Sew Baby! Tutorial Series at Fort Worth Fabric Studio! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to write up a tutorial for my Strip Tango pattern. Since making Bohemian Charm, this has been one of my go-to patterns when I need a quick quilt that is perfect for showing off pretty fabrics. In fact, I just posted another quilt I've been working…

A Complete Reunion
The Reunion Quilt is complete. The fabric in this quilt is from the Reunion collection by Sweetwater for Moda. I love working with this collection. The fabrics are so fun and cheerful. The finished quilt is a donation for a church auction. Here is a brief look at the back. The pattern is the same one I used for my Rose Quilt and I am currently working on putting a pattern together. Keep an eye out and I should have it listed in my Etsy shop in the next few days. Update** The pattern is now…
