three-bean chili by smitten kitchen - This is really very good. I made it in the slow cooker using dried black beans, red kidney beans, and pinto beans. I used 28 ozs diced tomatoes and added 2 tsp smoked Spanish paprika; I used one jalapeño and two New Mexico dried red chiles (which I removed after cooking). My slow cooker runs warm, and I use bulk dried beans, which tend to be fresher and require less cooking time,so I cooked on low for six and a half hours.
