Books, Reading, Journals

I love books, and especially old books, and pretty books and reading, of course, and journals too. And libraries! Bookmarks. And bookstores, especially used bookstores. It's no coincidence that bookworms are always found in the oldest books, right‽ Yes, that's right.

Bed And Books by Tilly Strauss

The Los Angeles-based artist Mike Stilkey uses stacks of books as his canvas. Probably now a seasoned book collector, Stilkey found a way to being able to paint on an uneven surface. From only needing a few dozen to about 2000 books, he paints an array of subjects with a mix of ink, colored pencil, paint and lacquer. So far, Stilkey’s work has been featured at LeBasse Projects and Kinsey/DesForges in Culver City, CA, and Bristol City Museum among many more.
