inspiration! The Quilts of Gee's Bend: Masterpieces from a Lost Place
American Quilt, Quilt Inspiration, Good Reading, Quilt Book, Mind Bend, Africian Quilt, Williams Arnett, Book Reading, Lost Places
A glorious celebration of the quilts made at Gees Bend in the deep south. A good read and masses of photos of the quilts and their makers. The quilts are works of art and truly inspirational.
One of my most important books for quilting inspiration and for simply gawking.
"The Quilts of Gee's Bend: Masterpieces from A Lost Place" by William Arnett, Alvia Wardlaw, Jane Livingston, & John Beardsley
The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood
Mary Baxter, Book Club, Worth Reading, Anne Hoods, Book Worth, Knitting, Baxter Join, Novels, Knits Circles
After the sudden loss of her only child, Mary Baxter joins a knitting circle as a way to fill the empty hours and lonely days. The women welcome her, each teaching Mary a new knitting technique and, as they do, revealing their own personal stories of loss, love, and hope. Eventually Mary is able to tell her own story of grief and in so doing reclaims her love for her husband, faces the hard truths about her relationship with her mother, and finds the spark of life again.
Just finished reading this. I won't even lie here--I cried nearly the entire way through. It was a wonderful, wonderful novel and I don't even knit (yet?) "The Knitting Circle" by Ann Hood
