touchable light - hand - woman - sun ray - dust - black dress - hair - eye - elbow - wall - window - memory
She ran her hands through the sunlight. Such a simple thing. Sunlight. Yet, it was one of the most powerful thing in Azelea. It could scare away shadows.
shallow depth of field - focused on her hand by kelsey hannah lee colors - browns and yellows balanced in the center movement - the lines of light lead the viewer's eye from left to right
The last pinner quoted the source: "http://www.flickr.com/photos/meiandra" -- This is such a gorgeous shot. I love pictures that show all the dust floating through the air, but the raised eyebrow and widened eye looking at her hand instill a sense of comunicable wonder at the nature of light and the things we can not quite see all the time in our world. Beautiful.
Part 4: 5: The girl in this picture can barely see the light. Thats how girls in Sudan are, they aren't allowed to see everything. Their society tells them what they CAN learn, and doesn't let them see the world. There is a difference of 17% in literacy between women and men. This number is due to the fact that society tells women that they are only good for working in the house and getting married.
nice picture, right? My first thought? THE VASHTA NERADA--STAY OUT OF THE SHADOWS!!! Not every shadow, but any shadow. They are the dust in sunbeams, and all you can do is run. Every planet in the universe has an irrational fear of the dark, but it's not irrational, because sometimes people go missing. Sometimes they don't come back from the shadows. Aaaah I LOVE Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead (might even top The Girl in the Fireplace)!
let the light shine upon you and let the shadows fall behind
Girl in the dust mote light.
