Our Five Senses Unit - Touch

Great activity for teaching touch during a 5 Senses lesson or texture during art. By the end of exploratory, the kids will be able to describe different textures.

My students LOVE tis every year - especially because I always have so many boys (which I love). A fellow genius teacher told me about it my first year! It's a blast. I even do it! Back to school Snowball Fight...kids write 3 things about themselves on a sheet of white paper. They do not write their names on the paper. Wad it up and on your command, have a "snowball" (or baseball) fight. At the end of 1 minute, each student grabs the nearest snowball and tries to guess who wrote it.

Need to remember this for November! Love it

Grade This is also a great way to teach the election process. The class could create a ballot box and elect other students for class roles. I like how this teacher also integrated reading in government with the use of election books.

Angry verbs board - teaching kids about verbs! I think I'm going to do "Angry Birds Learn Their Verbs!" and that way it will make sense that the verbs themselves aren't angry words. My students love Angry Birds!
