When emergencies occur coordination is critical. The #ClusterApproach was designed in 2005 in order to strengthen this coordination. Clusters are groups of humanitarian organizations, both UN and non-UN, in each of the main sectors of humanitarian action, e.g. water, sanitation and hygiene. They are designed by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) and have clear responsibilities for coordination. See it in our new IOM Humanitarian Compendium: http://humanitariancompendium.iom.int/

The latest map on activites of the Global CCCM Cluster. The Global Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Cluster is composed of a number of partner agencies. IOM and UNHCR co-lead the Global CCCM Cluster for natural disaster and conflict-induced IDP situations respectively. At the country level CCCM is a vital humanitarian mechanism as it facilitates protection and assistance to displaced populations. #GlobalCCCM
