Love-in-a-mist Nigella damascena 'Albion Green Pod' - pure white flowers with a prominent boss of stamens are framed by a collar of wispy foliage, creating a beautiful, ethereal effect. As the flowers fade, fantastic green seedpods develop, and both these and the flowers make wonderful additions to fresh or dried arrangements
chamomile, so pretty and smell heavenly in the herb garden; they're easy to grow from seed and naturalize well if you leave the second batch of flowers (after harvesting for tea, etc) to wilt and go to seed
Sweet Alyssum-best in smell-Known for its carpet of lightly fragrant flowers in white, rose, lavender, or purple, sweet alyssum is an easy-to-grow, low-maintenance cool-season annual. Rarely growing more than 6 inches tall and 1 foot wide, sweet alyssum is a good addition to edgings, beds, rock gardens, hanging baskets, and window boxes
Super heat tolerant. Low water needs. Fast multiplier. Seems to thrive in rocky soil. Green, really green all year round. A single bulb planted 2 years ago has now multiplied to 30 bulbs. Easy to transplant. They come in a multitude of colors. The Zephyranthes Candida in the photo are the variety that I have had the most luck with.
