How to dye paper doilies. These were done with expresso coffee (left) and with red wine (right). If using coffee, allow at least 2 hours to get that ivory look. Never place doilies on hot water-coffee-tea-; they will tear apart. Waint until your beverage cools down and then place the dolies inside a low profile kitchen pan. Red wine dyes faster, so watch out they dont get too dark. Dying intensity also depends on manufacturer. Some doilies take 3 X more to dye than others. Good luck!
