Food Photo/Style Tip for Clean, Lighter-Key Photos: Yes, wood, dark tones are great. But clean, crisp bright images are equally beautiful for a different perspective. You don't always need to have rustic wood, so gather simple, similar tone whites & off-white linens, plates, textures. The delicate & light toned layers of white props convey a fresh, clean, healthy & airy mood. Also, colors of food pop on white. This drink was to show a refreshing & clean scene, so we kept it light & bright.

Food Styling Tip: Think about the interesting visuals you can achieve by using different dishes of different sizes. We often gravitate to having everything "balanced" or looking the same. But an eclectic point of view in styling by using miss-matched pieces can make your photo pop! In this mis-en-place photo, I wanted to make each ingredient unique by using a different dish, but keeping colors consistent kept it from getting too busy. I love finding one-off pieces on sale/discount shelves!
