HORTOMALLAS, trellising bitter melon
Momordica charantia (or bitter melon, Chinese Balsam Apple, cundeamor chino, bitter gourd, bitter squash or balsam-pear…
Espalier failure for wind or a poorly planted post? NO problem with HORTOMALLAS! IN this case, termites had eaten the foot of the bamboo stake, and the whole trellis fell on its side. Unlike what would have happened with raffia, the netting stayed in its place, holding the plants together. Nothing was lost, replacion the post and pushing the trellis back in position was all it needed!
