#MiraiEarnedIt, #MiraiToWorlds

American figure skater Mirai Nagasu, the 2008 U.S. national champion and the 4th-place finisher at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, has been denied a spot on the 2014 U.S. Olympic team. This comes despite her finishing 3rd at the 2014 national championships, with three berths available on the Olympic squad. It is the first time ever that the United States Figure Skating Association has passed over a skater in favor of a lower-finishing competitor when injury was not a factor.

Doesn't the IOC have rules re: athletes, endorsements, and conflict of interest? Looks like it's business as usual. That Olympic dream can be bought and not earned is sending the wrong message.

Gosh, I don't know, but it seems pretty free-for-all. Money is everywhere in the Olympic context.

That's strange. I'm in CA also, but it's still coming through okay. I'm afraid I'm not tech savvy enough to have any idea what to do.
