Wanted to recreate something from the Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) cartoon as a little personal project. After some research I found this concept (https://i.redd.it/79jjokcxzdky.png) from the unknown artist. And here it is. However, a bit retouched to fit my personal liking. Keep in mind that this was made for a single render, thus I didn't really worry much about correct topology or baking textures.

I think this build is more about keeping a fulfilling a promise I made to myself years ago. Atlantis is and has been one of my favorite Disney films ever since it's release in 2001. I was blown away by the designs, vehicles and landscapes. Beautifully stylized and deliciously Steampunk. I think this was the film that introduced me to the Steampunk Genre. Of course, one of the highlights of the film was the Ulysses: I gigantic submarine which transported our brave explorers through the ocean…

Based on a Sub pod From Disney film Atlantis

A while ago I came across this piece of concept art of a steampunk-ish looking sub. Didn't know until later it was actually a concept design for the Disney animation movie "Atlantis". I like it so much, I thought it would fun to model it in 3D. It's missing the pilots and internal machinery but when there's time I will try to fill that in ;-) 3D Modelling was done entirely in Zbrush. Composition and post-work in Photoshop.
