Just as your father taught you how to cut people off when you do not get your own way with them.... and now you do the same. Denying your children their family teaches them to deny you too as they grow up. When you do something they do not like what if they stop seeing you?????

Your child trips on the grass and starts screaming… spills their cup of water and starts crying... or yells “I hate you, go away!” when you try to connect with them during a meltdown.

First of all, nothing is wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with your child. And: you’re not “doing it wrong.”

Deal with Your Kid's BIG Emotions
When your child is screaming or crying or frustrated or upset, your first reaction is often to get them to stop. You want your child to be happy, not upset! But that approach misses the lesson. Wired For Wellbeing on Instagram: "If you are spanking, pinching, screaming at, criticizing and raging at your child for THEIR dysregulation - your first job is to learn how to regulate yourself. How unfair is it to expect a child to manage their emotions and behaviors more maturely when you cannot even manage your own? When a 4 year olds push back sends YOU over the edge?
