My favourite way of dealing with manipulative people is simply not to. Of couse sometimes it cannot be avoided but even in those situations i would normally to respond as little as possible, stay emotionally detached (or act like i am), and do not engage. My biggest piece of advice to myself and everyone else is remove yourself as quickly as possible and dont argue back. They can argue, you keep your replies simple.
