This live edge bench from Francois et Moi definitely hits the mark. The top is made from a single slab of walnut, so the only work required is some sanding to remove the milling marks and get everything nice and smooth. The legs are purchased easily on Etsy, so you simply need to attach them to the top, and give it a simple finish.

This is a hand made bench which features a large live edged walnut slab that waterfalls to seamlessly form one leg. The waterfall leg is secured in place with four oak pegs running through both sections of walnut like stitches. No nails or fasteners were used in making this bench. Just good old fashioned joinery. An unfinished black walnut bench for the Big Horn River Lodge in Montana. Incorporating a lot of mortise and tenon joinery, I have built quite a few of these over the past year.

This is a custom made bench with a crazy look and a warm heart. Built entirely from reclaimed iron and locally sourced wood. The wood was harvested from fallen trees 45miles from my shop. The legs are live edge hard maple. The top is dark walnut. The top rests on hard maple cross supports joined with lap joints.
