What you do during this initial start will often determine how the rest of the painting will progress. During my recent trip to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, I stopped by to see “Italian Woman at the Fountain,” painted by William Adolphe Bouguereau in 1869. I was looking forward to seeing it as I had painted an eye study during class with @valentineben of this painting and wanted to see how far off I was with color, accuracy, brush strokes etc. I brought my painting to the museum to compare it to the original which you can see in the photos.
