Denis received a classical education in the Lycée Condorcet where he met Vuillard, Roussel and Lugné-Poë. While studying in the Lycée he took drawing lessons and copied paintings by the old masters. Maurice Denis - 1913. Maurice Denis was a French painter and writer, and a member of the Symbolist and Les Nabis movements. His theories contributed to the foundations of cubism, fauvism, and abstract art. Here can see beginning of cubism in approach.
Photographed during a visit to the Museé d'Orsay art gallery in Paris, France back in 2002. Using my digital camera I was able to take far far more photos in a gallery than ever before.
