❤️ My rain lamp. Bought this from an antique dealer in the 90's. Still works fine as you can see from the rain drops. Must change mineral oil when it starts to smell old., otherwise it's low maintenance. Now I'm hoping to find a gold one with a waterwheel. ❤️ MaryK

I was shocked to learn that not everyone knew of these rain lamps from the 70's. Scored this one for $5 at a garage sale, a real coup, I'd say. It works like a charm and makes a meditative churning noise as it pumps mineral oil.

This lamp is about 32 inches long and uses two pints of mineral oil to create the rain. The oil is moved by a pump in the lower basin through a hose that runs up one of the columns into the top section. It then drips down the filaments through several holes in the top and back down to the bottom.
