Intestinal Transplantation
Intestinal Transplantation Types of transplant There are three main types of intestinal transplantation performed. All involve transplanting a sufficient length of small intestine to achieve independence from parenteral nutrition (PN). The large intestine is not usually transplanted, although its inclusion has been proposed as a way to reduce fluid losses. The terminal ileum is brought out as an ileostomy to facilitate biopsy, although this may be reversed in the long term by anastomosis to…

Each thin filament is made of 2 f-actin filaments. The two filaments form a double helix of f-actin, containing g-actin "beads." Each g-actin has an active site that can bind to the myosin of a thick filament. Thin filaments also have a troponin complex, made up of 3 troponin molecules. One inhibits binding myosin, one binds to tropomyosin, and one binds to Ca2+. Tropomysonin in also part of the thin filament and prevents troponin/myosin binding during muscle relaxation.

Secondary Growth in Monocotyledonous Stem | Plants
In this article we will discuss about the secondary growth in monocotyledonous stem. Most monocotyledons consist entirely of primary tissues. The usual vascular cambium is absent from this group and so there is no normal secondary growth. However, in some monocots, the thickening and elongation of stem occurs through primary thickening meristem, diffuse secondary thickening and secondary thickening meristem. Primary thickening meristem: This meristem is observed in palms, in the rhizomes of…
