Nokedli or Galuska - Hungarian Dumplings, is a wonderful side dish. We usually serve it with Chicken Paprikás (Chicken Paprikash) or Beef Stew. However it's a simple and so-so delicious dish, it takes a little longer to make than cooking pasta.
My Polish mother, Zosia, taught me to make these delicate Christmas cookies. She called them chrustki but others call them chrusciki, faworki, or angel wings. They’re very delicate and crumble easily so don’t wear your fancy black sweater! - Jenny Jones
I have been making these since I was 11. With my great grandmother. Normally these are made with potato But Her recipe doesnt. We love these they are simple to make, I put in chicken soup, casseroles, red sauce, even fry them in butter. Fattening but I dont care, there too good!
This simple recipe came from the Polish side of my family. We simply called it 'cottage cheese and noodles' or 'lazy man pierogies.' It's a great comfort food and can be made with any kind of noodle. It could be a side dish, but we always enjoyed it as a meal.
