This doesn’t mean that it has to become chronic or that we have now gone 5 steps back in our healing or that this always applies to every situation. But rather,it’s important to remember that not every single moment of dysregulation needs to be “regulated”. 

In many cases, dysregulation is the right response. Shutting down, freezing, getting angry, feeling anxious can all be appropriate responses to a situation that feel unsafe or threatening. 

We want to have access to regulation, of course, but that doesn’t mean that we avoid Dysregulation all together.
