The lighting standards on Westminster Bridge are already very ornate but when the light begins to fade and the lamps come on they give off a gorgeous green tinged light. Westminster Bridge was one of the designated meeting points for the Photo 24 London participants. As a result we'd been walking up, down, around, over, and under it for well over an hour checking out all the great views it seems to offer. On this day 28th December,1065 Westminster Abbey was consecrated; its founder, Edward the Confessor, could not attend due to illness. He died on 5th January 1066 and was buried in a shrine before the High Altar in his new church
