A vintage stitch (c.1915) that looks like knit - "Basically, this is a single crochet stitch done in the post of the stitch, rather than the front & back loops. It's important to keep the hook in the correct placement under the horizontal bar on the back of the stitch. Fabric is reversible."
My favorite stitch, Linen Stitch: Works on an even number of stitches. Row 1: *Knit 1, slip 1 with yarn in front. Repeat from * across, ending with a knit 1. Row 2: *Purl 1, slip 1 with yarn in back. Repeat from * across, ending with a purl 1. Repeat these two rows for pattern.
