1. R2-D2This mischievous little astromech droid is the true hero of the entire saga. He is everywhere! There is no Luke Skywalker if R2-D2 doesn’t find him. Everyone is fed to the sarlaac if R2 isn’t there with Luke’s lightsaber. Good luck escaping those Star Destroyers without R2 fixing the hyperdrive. I’m willing to bet that it wasn’t the force that helped Luke make that shot to destroy the first Death Star, but instead it was a heavily damaged R2 controlling the torpedoes. He (or

5. Boba FettSometimes style counts for a heck of a lot, and no one in the damn universe looks cooler than Fett in his Mandalorian armor. Even though he has fewer than 30 lines of dialogue in the entirety of the saga, Fett is a stonecold badass. He has to promise Vader that he won’t disintegrate any body. There is only one type of person that has to make that promise, and that’s people who disintegrate fools left and right. Plus he had a jet pack. Jet packs are the coolest.Tattoo by Led C

3. Darth VaderDarth Vader is the most feared villain in sci-fi history if not film history. That’s it, no big deal. So, why is he #3 on the list? Because as iconic as his look is we just can’t find ourselves picking Vader ahead of the next two on the list. And like many of the characters that appeared in the prequels there is some stink attached to Vader now. It’s impossible to look at him and not remember when he yelled like an imbecile at the end of Episode III. Argh. But his run in Em

13. StormtroopersThese foot soldiers are proof that overwhelming numbers are no match for one or two soldiers that can shoot, but that being said, they look really damn cool. Everyone recognizes them and every kid wanted to steal one of their suits like Luke and Han did in Episode IV.Tattoo by Jack Goks#inked #inkedmag #tattoo #idea #stormtrooper #bandana #starwars

10. Emperor PalpatinePure evil, this guy. The Emperor never had to prove to the viewers how terrifying he was. All we knew was that we were scared of Darth Vader, and he was clearly very scared of Palpatine. Every line of dialogue that he utters is fret with menace, right up until his demise.Tattoo by Chris Jones #inked #inkedmag #tattoo #portrait #colorful #EmperorPalpatine #starwars #art

8. Luke SkywalkerIt’s weird. Luke is clearly the hero and the character that you are rooting for the entire time, but he is far from the most likable guy. He’s sort of whiney. He’s certainly not cool. But he saves the whole damn galaxy far, far away. Plus he has a lightsaber! He should probably be ranked higher but every time I try to move him up I just hear him whining about wanting to go pick up some power converters and sigh.Tattoo by Chris Jones#inked #inkedmag #tattoo #starwars

2. YodaSurprised by this you are? Quite awesome Yoda is. OK, I’m done, but I’m just starting to heap praise on the little green guy. Yoda is the only character to appear in the prequels and the original trilogy that actually became a better character because of the prequels. As silly as it may have been to see a CGI Yoda jumping all over the damn place with a lightsaber it let you know that the 800-year-old Jedi could still deliver an asskicking. The scene when he and R2-D2 fight over a fl

9. Obi Wan KenobiIf the prequels never happened this wise old Jedi would be ranked higher. Everything that made us fall in love with the Alec Guiness version of the character seemed to be lost in the Ewan McGregor version. And, honestly, McGregor might have been the best part of those movies. Obi Wan is the best mentor Luke could have ever had. Not only did he sacrifice himself to save the young rebels, but Obi Wan was there to coach young Skywalker from beyond the grave.Tattoo by Nikko Hurt
