The 'Red House' - One of features of the elaborate Rococo Gardens of Painswick House was built in the mid 1730s - the owner, Charles Hyett, came to Painswick to escape the smog of Gloucester and named his new house 'Buenos Ayres'. Unfortunately, he died soon after and his son, Benjamin, created the fanciful garden (including this structure) in a hidden valley behind the house.
