New Mexico Bucket List
Few places on earth offer the rich history and blend of cultures you’ll find in New Mexico. We are the home to dozens of Native American pueblos, tribes and nations. There is also over 500 years of Hispanic culture to discover; as well as the great history of the True West, the Santa Fe Railroad and Billy the Kid. All of these influences can be found and experienced in the modern New Mexico of today.

The Miraculous Staircas
Santa Fe, NM......The Loretto Chapel Staircase in Santa Fe, NM, also called the Miracle Staircase.. Beautiful story behind this photo..The Miraculous Staircase - Santa Fe, NM The staircase has two 360 degree turns and no visible means of support. Also, it is said that the staircase was built without nails—only wooden pegs. Questions also surround the number of stair risers relative to the height of the choir loft and about the types of wood and other materials used in the stairway's construction
Miraculous Staircase, Loretto Chapel, Santa Fe, NM. Prior to completion of the staircase in 1878, there was no way to access the choir loft 22 ft. above. Carpenters were called in to address the challenge, but the only solution seemed to be a ladder, given the small size of the chapel. The sisters of the chapel prayed to St. Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters. A stranger then arrived who built the self-supporting spiral staircase. Photo by Len Saltiel
