Poland's Mysterious Crooked Forest: In a tiny corner of western Poland a forest of about 400 pine trees grow with a 90 degree bend at the base of their trunks - all bent northward. It is surrounded by a larger forest of straight growing pine trees.
*squeals* A Pea-Sized Frog. This frog was generously described as "pea-sized" when Conservation International announced, in August the Microhyla nepenthicola frog's discovery in a pitcher plant on Borneo, an island in Southeast Asia.
The multi-coloured streaks on the Rainbow Eucalyptus trunk comes from patches of outer bark that are shed annually at different times, showing the bright-green inner bark, which darkens and matures to give blue, purple, orange and then maroon tones.
Amazing World of Insect-Wing Color Discovered. Until now, the wing colors of many flies and wasps were dismissed as random iridescence. But they may be as distinctive and marvelous as the much-studied, much-celebrated wings of butterflies and beetles.
