I have found the art and science of teaching to be taken over more by standardized testing and textbook companies. What these people in charge don't understand is that listing standards and checking off boxes is not the best way to educate our students long-term. Because of the dis-connectivity between and among standards in the way they are presented in our textbooks, I felt the need to fill in those gaps for my students.
