The Liger is currently the largest cat in the world, combining the of lion with tiger. This liger named “Hercules” from Miami, comes in at roughly 904 pounds. The hugest liger in reported history however, weighted in at more than 1,759lb. Interestingly enough, the liger is about the same size as the prehistoric American Lion, making the animal the closest thing to a real life Jurassic Park as we will ever get in the next couple of years.
Binti Jua , a gorilla in the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, put her maternal feelings of protection into action when a three year old boy fell into the gorilla exhibit. Binti rushed over to the child and cradled and comforted him, keeping him safe from less-friendly gorillas. The boy spent a few days in hospital and then was released. Binti Jua is the 'niece' of the famous sign-language proficient Koko.

A tiger mother lost her cubs from premature labor. Shortly after she became depressed and her health declined, so they wrapped up piglets in tiger cloth, and gave them to the mother tiger. She now loves these pigs and treats them like her babies.

HORSES ADOPT ORPHANED DEER A fawn was spotted wandering alone in a field near Subenacadle, Nova Scotia, Canada, but managed to survive with the help of his new foster family of horses. Once the horses took him in, the fawn never left. He was able to survive summer and fall without his mothers milk. We guess all he really needed was a lot of love and tender care.
