I simply love the Harry Bosch character - especially since I live in LA. and then the NetFlix special with Titus (from Lost) made it even better.

I discovered him in my in-laws house years ago and then just raided the library shelves to find older books.

Lincoln just scares the crap out of me with some of his magical mystery tour effects.

I think I was visiting my parents in Miami Beach when I stumbled onto my first Jack Reacher novel. My dad's long-time friend has been dropping books off at my parent's apartment for years. And I think one of his first books was sitting in a pile in their living room. Jack Reacher and John Pullman are two of my favorite characters - though I have a lot of favorites to be honest.

My dad used to love Mickey Spillane who created that iconic detective Mike Hammer with his true love and assistant Velda. The best opening of any book I ever read was My Gun Is Quick.

I first read Ken Follett when I was 16 years old spending a year overseas before college. The first of his thrillers that I read was Eye of the Needle.

Baldacci created the John Pullman character who is a hero amongst heroes. Can't remember the first time i read his stuff though - very sad.

Douglas Presto, who usually writes with Lincoln Child, also can pen his own novels quite well. I discovered him in his duo personality and think his ongoing saga with Pendergast is excellent.

I wish i could remember the first time I read Walter Mosely. It was most likely pulling it off the shelf at the Los Angeles public library. and then finding old copies in the stacks.
