Seizing the Hungarian throne at the age of fifteen, the "Raven King,” was an effervescent presence on the fifteenth-century stage who sought to leave a strong, unified country, splendid palaces, and the most magnificent library in Christendom. In his thrilling and absorbing account, Marcus Tanner tracks the destiny of the Raven King and his magnificent bequest, uncovering the remarkable story of a life and library almost lost to history.

I grew up with, what we called kolachy's, others call it a Kiffles, basically a Hungarian cookie! Yummy! I have had prune, poppy seed, strawberry, and my favorite, apricot. You can fill it with whatever you think will taste good! These are a tradition in my family, we make them every year at Christmas time!

Hungarian Kiffles - Kiffles are traditional Hungarian cookies made from cream cheese dough and filled with various flavors of pastry filling. They're delicate, rich and a beautiful addition to any holiday cookie platter. Being of Hungarian descent, kiffles (kiflis) have always been on hand at our family gatherings during the holidays. They take a little bit of work to prepare, but one bite will prove they're well worth the effort.
