Once a month, add a cup of Distilled White Vinegar & 1 Cup of Baking Soda directly into the drum and use HOT water for washing. Then, I add about ½ cup of vinegar into the fabric softener compartment and ½ cup of baking soda into the detergent compartment. Set the wash on “Quick Wash” with HOT water and High Spin Cycle. If the mold situation is really bad,use bleach instead of vinegar and baking soda. But make sure you run a few empty cycles just with hot water before doing a load of wash.

Clean Hardwood Floors Use boiling water and two teabags to clean hardwood floors. The tannic acid in tea creates a beautiful shine for hardwood floors. Let two teabags steep in the boiling water for a few minutes. Pour the tea into a bucket. Take a soft cloth and wring it out in the tea. The cloth merely needs to be damp, not soaked. This will enable the floor to dry quickly. Wash the floor and be ready to be amazed by the sheen... and no sticky or oily residue

Air Freshener Part of getting your home clean is also knocking out nasty odors in the air. So try this homemade air freshener on for size. To make a basic air freshener, squeeze juice from a fresh lemon into a cereal bowl half filled with baking soda. Leave the dish uncovered. *Lemon also kills mold, so when you're done squeezing out that lemon juice, grind up the lemon leftovers in the garbage disposal to get rid of food molds and residue.
