Liesegang Rings | Widemouth Bay, North Cornwall, Richard Childs Photography. Liesegang rings are colored bands of cement observed in sedimentary rocks that typically cut-across bedding. These secondary structures exhibit bands of (authigenic) minerals that are arranged in a regular repeating pattern. The precise mechanism from which Liesegang rings form is not entirely known and is still under research.

thanks Minette, but the link you sent me to is termite mounds. Did you know that with biomimicry we used the structure of termite mounds to create a self-cooling building in India?

    Murmuration!

Wave Rock is a natural rock formation located east of the small town of Hyden in Western Australia. The 'wave' formation was formed 60 million years ago and the shape of the rock is not caused by a wave phenomenon, rather its rounded wave-like shape was formed by subsurface chemical weathering followed by removal of the soft weathered granite by fluvial erosion, thus the weathering occurred below ground level before it was exposed.

This is awesome, but was it really filmed on a 5D?? ... it looks like motion graphics to me.

@Matt C I looked through the comments on Vimeo and a lot of people there want what you want to: a "Making Of" video. How the hell did she do it? I don't know. But you might want to look at the story beind the special effects in "The Fountain" with Hugh Jackman. Many of the FX are done the same way.
