The stairway has Cor-ten steel risers. “They were really easy to install,” says Stickley. “The riser face you see as you walk up has ends that return into the hillside. The U-shape is very easily filled with gravel and then mulched to create a safe surface to walk on that doesn’t erode the slope.”
