This is our latest, newest addition to the Jellybean Row line: stretched canvas! This piece is large - eye-poppingly large - measuring 15" X 24". The 2" sidewall on the stretched canvas is used to maximum effect, to show the side of the house. The size large is priced at $195 each. All 16 houses in the collection are available on stretched canvas, in small, medium, large and supersize. These aren't up on the web site yet, but if you want more information or to order, please call (709)…
This may look like iceberg pieces, but it's not - it's sea ice, photographed in Twillingate in May What's the difference, you ask? Sea ice is new ice that forms every year, whereas icebergs are thousands of years old.
I snapped this iceberg in the summer of right outside the entrance to St. That night, there was a story on the TV news about how the iceberg had cracked in half, causing a spectacular show. I had missed it by minutes.
Dawns Creations are special indeed. Each piece is handmade from putty, and they are not painted - those are the natural colours of the putty. So yes, the check patterns are actually layers of coloured clay. Quite impressive. For more info, write.
One of our funniest and most-talented entertainers, Mark Critch, enjoys a coffee on Water Street. This guy has the quickest mind of anyone I've ever met - he comes up with new material constantly and continuously. To read my profile of Mark, please visit: http://www.thetelegram.com/Blog-Article/b/11419/A-Fathers-Influence Please forgive the lack of quotation marks in the article. Somehow, they got stripped out when the paper changed its site architecture. (Geoff Meeker photo)
Retired Newfoundland media personality Ken Meeker (left), famous for many things but perhaps best known for his Collect-A-Wreck campaign, poses with his brother, some guy named Howie, who I think was a hockey player or something.
