When your child can identify the letter once he/she has heard the letter but can not yet identify letters when shown to them in random order... they are ready for this game! Give them fewer letters.. 3-5 at a time is enough.

Children choose a letter out of a bucket and dab it with a bingo marker. (Different colour for each letter.) Good for letter recognition. Do something similar with numbers 1 through 10 or Can add pictures for sound recognition also

A great idea for word families

Great way to teach reading with word family eggs. On each egg, write the initial and final sounds with sharpie marker. Students can twist the egg to create new words that start or end with their sound.

great idea to put paint in glue bottles! Great way to strengthen the fine motor skills!

Students create a T-shirt design inspired by the book they read. Picture on the front and a motto for the book on the back!

An fun alternative to the traditional book report. The teacher provides each student with a white t-shirt. Kids design the T-shirt to represent their book and then have to pitch the book to their classmates without giving away the ending.

Grammar Journals. 1 skill per week, applied in actual student journal entries. Great idea instead of weekly worksheets

Grammar Journals are an interesting way to teach/integrate grammar lessons. Left side is the grammar lesson with rules, and the right side is their attempts at using it in their own way with a writing prompt. Could use as a method of assessment.
