Fort idea for where the rocking chair is now in D's room. Use a tension rod between the furniture and the wall to create a fort. What kid doesn't love a fort? This would also make an awesome reading nook!
Put an entire outfit (including undies and hair accessories) in a ziploc bag. One bag per day. When you get to the hotel, put the bags in a drawer and they can pick one per day. Did this for Disney trip. Put dirty clothes in bag at the end of the day.
Lunchbox cupboard: The kids pack their lunches--Pick one from each drawer (fruit, granola bars, snacks, desserts, drinks) The parent chooses what goes in the drawers but the child learns to make their own choice of what to eat.--Love this idea!
Relax Bottle/Time Out Timer: Glitter bottles for kids to hold during time out. Once all the glitter settles the child can get out of time out. It takes about 5 minutes for all the glitter to fall to the bottom. Helps kids calm down during time out.
Calming jar-tell child that they need a break and may come back when everything has settled to the bottom - I think I love this idea. Better than a simple time out for temper tantrums. some days I think that I need a calming jar.
For the kids. Put practice sheets into plastic sheet protectors so students can practice with a dry erase marker then erase when finished so its ready for the next day/next student. Idea: Chart Binders from Teacher Tipster.
