I got this idea from a fellow elementary music teacher in my district. Cut pool noodles into 4 and use as rhythm sticks for the little ones. It's safe and not nearly as loud! I just got finished cutting up this set (super fast and easy with a serrated knife) from noodles I bought online. Can't wait to try them!
Shaker Eggs: a great activity for music and movement! Take old clear easter eggs and fill them with beads or sand or anything that will make a fun noise! Then play a song and have the kids shake the eggs along to the beat!
Create Piano Sandwiches using white and brown bread with crusts removed. Fill the sandwiches with peanut butter and jelly, cut into thin rectangles and line up alternating brown and white rectangles to resemble piano keys.
