Jennifer's Teaching Tools: Writing Strong Leads

When teaching students how to write leads, this is a great handout to give them so that they can have examples of different ways to approach the lead. This will help them develop strong leads that will lure their readers into the story.

Hooking the reader anchor chart- HA! This doesn't require much drawing- I can make this one! lol

Hook the Reader I think to introduce hooks in a story the student should have the option of playing with writing with different hooks. Minnow=little hook, Bass Fish=medium hook, Shark=huge hook. Could be done with a sticky hand and fish on the wall.
