This writing workshop poster set can be used to create your own anchor chart and includes an individual size page for students to reference when they begin a new story. Keep it in a Writing Workshop binder.
When teaching students how to write leads, this is a great handout to give them so that they can have examples of different ways to approach the lead. This will help them develop strong leads that will lure their readers into the story.
Hook the Reader I think to introduce hooks in a story the student should have the option of playing with writing with different hooks. Minnow=little hook, Bass Fish=medium hook, Shark=huge hook. Could be done with a sticky hand and fish on the wall.
