I made mats like this and my class loves to play. We keep score on the board for who wins each 'hand'. I call out, "Draw 2 (or 3) cards and make the least/greatest number possible." I also made one which includes thousands, for later. @Carlie Tucker -- good idea for your room. larger numbers (or smaller for "certain students *wink*)
SO SMART! The displays are made with file folders in the first few days of school. Students complete an "about me" sheet that is attached to the first part of the file folder. The entire file folder is then laminated. A gallon sized storage bag is added to the bottom part of the file folder for students' work to be displayed.
Use two filing cabinets to create a cute cozy corner or quiet area. The curtain rod and simple curtains make this a place where preschool students love to explore and sit and look at their favorite stories. Photos of friends and comfy pillows create a homey feeling.
