Tired of your students running up and telling you every little thing? Trouble with tattling? Do you have students that need a Band-Aid for a teeny-tiny speck? Teach your students the 5 B’s! The 5 B's is a classroom management tool meant to reduce off task "teacher telling" and tattling. The 5 B’s help your students know when it’s appropriate to go to the teacher and what things a teacher needs to know about.$

Students don't ask me for pencils anymore. No one leaves the room until all pencils are back on the board. (Photo only, but would be easy to make!)

Neat Idea! One student is selected to be the "Ask Me" person (to help students who need assistance) while the teacher works with small groups-no disruptions for the teacher!!!

Transition Song: Twinkle, twinkle little star; stop and clean up where you are . . .

FUN Hallway Behavior Management Idea. Before you leave the classroom pick a chip with a students name but don't tell who it is. They are the mystery walker and you are watching that student the entire time. If they do a good job in the hall, they get a ticket or prize.

I love her brain break video clips!...If you play these vids you will easily be the coolest teacher in the building!

How this teacher manages: instead of having classroom jobs, she had a boy and girl "helping hand" of the day. The two helpers were responsible for all of the classroom jobs (line leader, door holder, running errands, etc.) Just write each students' name on a cutout of a hand and hang the hands on the wall and flip the hands each day. It is such a super easy system, and it works out so that students get to be a helper about once every other week.

Use paint sticks and velcro to make a sequencing activity that can be used with any book; could also use for an individual schedule for kids with autism-- very portable!

This would be fun!

Soaring Through Second Grade: Transitions and Cutting Music with GarageBand- An Easy Cheesy Tutorial

The most brilliant and organized lesson plan organization I’ve seen! 1 binder for each 9 weeks. 1 tab for each week. 1 overview for the week at the beginning of each tab. Individual lesson plans behind weekly overview. Reorganized every summer. Brilliant. [educationjourney: Lesson Plans]

This is simple way to call on students when no one is volunteering! Kinda like popsicle sticks, but much more techy! Random Name Selector--

Have you heard of Remind101?? It's the easiest way to contact parents in the 21st century! This app/website sends a text/email to all of your students or parents that have signed up without giving away your phone number. Who wouldn't read a reminder sent directly to their phone?! Send out an immediate text or schedule out texts, whatever you need! All for FREE!

Link of songs to sing in the classroom! Life can be a musical at last!

this is a great idea...students sign out when they leave the classroom; can also have magnetic pictures/words for nurse, bathroom, etc. so students can put it beside their name so you know exactly where they are!

Ladybug's Teacher Files: The Great Pencil Challenge (managing pencils!) LOVE this idea!

Line behavior, very positive, love it!

Fabulous!! I am making one this weekend!!! Readers, I'd like you to meet my sanity saver. This is where I start each year before working in my classroom. My binder. This baby is my planner, organizer and keep-me-sane-inizer. That's why I'm devoting an entire post to it. No, really, it just plays a huge part in my day and I'm excited to share it in the hopes that it might help that newbie teacher feel a little bit more "above" water. Needless to say, I've got lots of things to share.

I need to find this insert... I have the bag and use it daily.

When a child is unfriendly in class (or at home!) they have to pick a random act of kindness. This is a great tool for redirection than disciplining and compliments the kindness tree.
