Dolls-1850s&1950s

This morning, I went to wipe my hands on a tea towel, and while I was using it, it seemed like it felt a bit light. I unfolded it and realized my daughter had cut little bits out of it to make frocks for her dolls! Emma Thompson

1950s Madame Alexander ballerina. My sister's doll. She hated dolls. Would much rather be putting doll outfits on a cat then her dolls.

1950s doll. Thought all our dolls as children were Madame Alexander, but can't find a tag on this one. I really loved this doll. She was my favorite for a while. Especially liked the blond hair. Think her name was "Roxanne"?????

Somebody's mother threw away my Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls. I'm sure they were pretty ratty by that time. They were "well loved". This is one my husband got for me that was in a collection of dolls that he bought online. I have her in my bedroom. When I look at her I remember the "good old days" of my youth.

1950s Madame Alexander doll. Some relative in the past played with my dolls and lost this one's clothes. I should have reclaimed her sooner. Think she had a blue coat and hat. Not sure about the dress under the coat.

This is what my Sally looked like.my favorite baby doll. Her dress & bonnet were pink.
