Did you know that the largest lake in Florida, Lake Okeechobee, is as big as the entire state of Rhode Island?

If you're going to ride the subway, it is important to move to the center of the subway car to make room for other riders. Standing by the door even if you move to the side makes it difficult for people getting on and off the train. Also..don't lean on the poles! You may be exhausted, but it's common subway courtesy...leaning prevents the other passengers from having something to hold on to.

The names at the Ground Zero Memorial are etched into the stone and families come to place flowers in the names. We met many of those families on our trip. Imagine complete silence except for the sound of waterfalls pouring into the crevasse.

My family and I visited the Ground Zero Memorial. NYC is our original hometown. 3 weeks following 911 I visited with firefighters at the site while they were sifting through the rubble on. You must go see this memorial. It is a beautiful tribute to the souls we lost. There are many firefighters and first responders you can speak with at the memorial.

Looks like another world..but's just New York. :)
