This board helps my students remember some of the word parts we have highlighted throughout the year. Greek and Latin word parts are the toughest (we put those in the root section), but once they master them, they can continuously add examples (leaves) throughout the year seeing their vocabulary and the tree get thicker and thicker!
FREE Homework Incentive~ When the entire class completes a homework assignment on time, hang up one flag. With the letters in "homework" and a starting and ending decorative flag, there are 10 flags in all. When the banner is complete, give the class extra recess, a homework pass,or whatever incentive works for your classroom. The toughest part of this plan-- laminating the reusable flag pennants. Great, new twist on a tried-and-true idea!
Classroom DIY: Whiteboard Tables - If you like your students being able to work collaboratively OR if you are short whiteboard space - this is for you! What a great DIY! This would also be great for the homeschool room that needs an extra whiteboard surface without using up valuable wall space.
Do you see it down there in the bottom right hand corner? Obviously this could be done with a printout or marker, but I just adore the use of magnet letters. It would make a great center, whole group or choice time activity.
