I am madly in LOVE with this. students track their own progress and present it to parents at conference time.

Welcome to First Grade Room 5: Data Folders

No Homework Binder--Each student has a blank page in the binder. The student must write the date, assignment, and reason for not having it on their page for each forgotten assignment. Keeps track of # missing and reasons. Great management tool!

Teach Bake Love: No Homework Binder

1. Write names of students who are absent on the calendar. 2. Gather their missing assignments and put them in the folder for their class period. 3. Students are responsible for checking the folder when they return to school.

I did this in my special ed classroom this year - made a page of mini lines and copied front and back for management and kept page for each student to prevent always doing the same thing. After a couple of weeks I redid and designed my own that fit my students best.

FREE Homework Incentive~ When the entire class completes a homework assignment on time, hang up one flag. With the letters in "homework" and a starting and ending decorative flag, there are 10 flags in all. When the banner is complete, give the class extra recess, a homework pass,or whatever incentive works for your classroom. The toughest part of this plan-- laminating the reusable flag pennants. Great, new twist on a tried-and-true idea!
